Article II

Title: Membership

A.   Number of members: Members shall be limited to forty (40) active members and at no time shall it exceed forty (40).

B.  New Members: 

  1. A prospective member must be at least sixteen (16)years of age.

     

  2. A prospective member must be sponsored by a member in good standing.

     

  3. A prospective new member can be voted on the first time that he attends a regular Club meeting.  If approved, the prospective member will serve a probationary period of six (6) months.   At any time during the six (6) months the prospective member can be expelled from the club by four (4) votes of the Board of Directors.  At the end of the probationary period the prospective member will either be approved as a “member in good standing” or rejected as a member. 

     

  4. Any previous member of the Club must request reinstatement in person.  Attending members will vote using sealed bids.  Results to be tabulated by attending Board members. The President will notify the applicant of the results within 24 hours. If accepted meeting points begin from date of application.      (Rev 8/2005), 

     

  5. All voting for membership in club will be done by private ballet. (Rev 5/2005)

In the event there is no vacancy when the application is presented, the applicant’s name may be placed on a waiting list.  When a vacancy occurs in the membership, applicants will be considered in the order their names were put on the list.  Reinstated members applications take precedent over new member applications.  (Rev 09/2005)

     

  8. If five (5) members among those present vote not to approve an applicant for membership to the Club, that applicant will be rejected.

  • C.  Meeting Attendance:
          Members who in any one (1) year miss three (3) consecutive Club meetings, unless excused by an officer of the Club, shall automatically be dropped from the roster.

        D.  Failure to Abide by Rules:
          Any member failing to abide by the rules as voted by the Club shall be expelled,
          by a majority vote of the Board of Directors.

    E.      Membership in Other Bass Clubs:  Members of the Club are not allowed to belong to more than one (1) bass club at the same time. Except that members of Harrison Bassmasters may start and can participate in a Federated Club, which is called Harrison Bassmasters Federated.  This Federated Club will be a separate club, with it’s own Officers’, it’s members must be in Harrison Bassmasters. To avoid conflicts and distraction to the Harrison Bassmasters schedule and participation, the Federated portion will use Harrison Bassmasters, schedule and rules.. (Rev 1/2006)
