Article VIII

Title: Alcohol / Drug, Physical Threat and Handgun

A.  Drug Policy:  Alcoholic beverages, or drugs (prescription or otherwise) which could affect a person’s overall stability or awareness are prohibited from being in a members boat during competition, including weigh-ins. 

1)       It is the responsibility of both boat competitors to observe each others condition prior to the beginning of competition.  Should either competitor feel that the other is impaired it is to be immediately brought to the attention of any tournament member.  A decision as to the members’ ability to compete will be made prior to the tournament by the tournament committee. 

2)       As a representative of the Club it is each members responsibility to present a positive public image.  Members who violate this through intoxicated actions or drug induced impairment are subject to disciplinary actions. 

3)       Any Club member found to be in violation of this policy could be placed on probation if deemed necessary by a majority of the Clubs Board Members.  Gross repeated violation of this policy could result in permanent expulsion from the Club. 

B.     Physical Threat:  As members of the Club we agree to treat each other in a non-threatening manner.  Should there be a personal difference within the group, it is the responsibility of the concerned party to air the concern through the Clubs Board Members. 

1)      The Club will not tolerate

            Physically fighting.

            Threatening another member, physically or verbally.

            Brandishing a knife or gun in a threatening manner. 

2)      Any Club member found to be in violation of this policy could be placed on probation if deemed necessary by a majority of the Clubs Board Members.  Gross or repeated violation of this policy could result in permanent expulsion from the Club. 

C.     Handguns:  Anyone who chooses to possess a handgun during any Club event must abide by the following guidelines. 

1)      Provide proof of valid TN handgun permit. 

2)      Accept full responsibility of your actions should an accident occur. 

3)      Never let anyone hold or handle your gun. 

4)      Never discharge the gun unless you deem it personal defense. 

5)      Never display the gun in a threatening or horse-playing manner. 

6)      It’s your responsibility to know and follow the laws governing handgun possession in the states we fish. 

7)      Any Club member found to be in violation of this policy could be placed on probation if deemed necessary by a majority of the Clubs Board Members.  Gross or repeated violation of this policy could result in permanent expulsion from the Club.
